🔵 Normalise the fear

Hey Reader,

Fear is an interesting emotion.
So often we take it as a signal that something isn’t safe.

But what if… it’s simply a signal that we’re about to enter unknown territory?

If you know me, you’ll know I’m all about creating more freedom in life. And I know that’s a big word. It means something different to each of us.

I recently came across an idea that stayed with me. It described four types of freedom: freedom of time, freedom of relationships, freedom of purpose and freedom of money.

Whatever version you’re after, fear seems to be a familiar companion on the journey.

Notice I said companion.

Not obstacle.
Not enemy.
Not something to get rid of.

Just… part of being human.
I’ve stopped treating fear as a sign to turn around. If anything, I’ve started expecting it.

Every time I’m about to create something new, make a bold decision or step into a bigger version of myself, I already know it’ll probably be sitting there, waiting for me.

And strangely, expecting it has made it much easier to keep moving.

I see this all the time in business.
Not because people lack strategy.
Not because they aren’t capable.

But because fear quietly disguises itself as logic.

“Maybe I’ll wait until my website is finished.”
“I’ll post once I’ve refined my offer.”
“I’m just not ready to reach out to potential clients yet.”

On the surface, those thoughts sound sensible.
Underneath them is often something much simpler:

“What if I fail?”
“What if they judge me?”
“What if I’m not good enough?”

So here’s something to try this week.
Instead of arguing with your fear…

Invite it to speak. Give it a voice. Completely unfiltered. Write down everything it has to say.

Don’t interrupt it.
Don’t judge it.

Just listen.

And once it’s finished, ask one question: “What do you need from me so we can take the next step together?”

You might be surprised by the answer.
Fear doesn’t always need to disappear.

Sometimes it just wants to know you’ll walk beside it.

Business Inside Out

Business isn't really about business. It's one of the greatest mirrors we have. The clearer we become internally...the clearer our businesses become externally.

Hey Reader,I'm in the air (quite literally). As you're reading this, I'm somewhere between Europe and Bali, doing my seasonal migration back to the island :) So this letter isn’t really about business. But then again… everything in life is connected. How we are with ourselves in one place tends to get reflected in another (life’s a mirror).I always get this nostalgic feeling when I’m leaving places (which happens a lot). You know that strange space when something is ending and something new is...

I know some of you might immediately think…“I’m just not good at systems.”“I’m not a tech person.”“I’m too disorganised for all of that.”But what if you’re not bad at systems? What if you just haven’t built one around YOU yet?One that works with the way you think. One that makes your life...

Palm tree and moon with text - where is your time actually going

Hey Reader,Happy September :) Not sure about you, but I love this time of year. There is something about September that feels like a new kind of motion. Summer is winding down. The witchy season is approaching. And there are still four whole months left to move some things forward before the year is done. So this week we’re continuing with the practical side of business.Let’s talk about time. Or more specifically… What are you actually doing with the hours you have?Time management is one of...
