🔵 Sometimes support isn't about needing help

Hey Reader,

I’ve been reading an amazing book recently called Who Not How.
There are so many ideas in it that I’m still digesting, but I want to share one that has stayed with me.

It was about commitment.

The authors make the point that the moment we invite another person into our vision, something shifts.

Not because they suddenly do the work for us.
But because we’re no longer carrying the whole thing alone.

And somehow… that makes the vision feel more real. We become more committed to it ourselves.

It made me think about the early days of my own business. Like many people starting out, I thought I had to figure everything out myself (and if I’m honest… I was kind of proud of it).

Every answer.
Every system.
Every piece of content.
Every decision.

It felt almost like a rite of passage to do it myself.

Because…
“If I can’t do it all myself… maybe I’m not ready.”
“Maybe I’m not capable enough.”

Looking back, I don’t think that belief made me a better entrepreneur (definitely not if success is measured in ease… and a regulated nervous system).

It just made the journey a lot longer and heavier than it needed to be.

One thing I’ve realised over the years is that every meaningful step forward in my business has involved another person.

⇢ A mentor who helped me see what I couldn’t.
⇢ A client who reflected something back to me.
⇢ Someone who built something technical that I had absolutely no interest in learning.
⇢ A book that arrived at exactly the right time.

Support or guidance doesn’t always look like hiring.
Sometimes it’s simply allowing yourself to stop pretending you have to know everything (I know I did).

It made me look at commitment from another angle.
Every investment is also a commitment.

Whether that’s hiring someone…
buying a course…
or saying yes to support.

You’re quietly telling yourself “This matters enough for me to stop doing it alone.”

And maybe that’s the shift we need to make in our thinking.
We often think support comes after the business becomes successful.

I actually think support is one of the things that helps create that success.

Not because someone else builds the business for you. But because they help you keep walking towards the thing you’re trying to build.

So before you head into the weekend… I’d love to leave you with a few questions.

✧ Where are you trying to do everything yourself?
✧ What have you been trying to figure out on your own for far too long?
✧ If someone could walk alongside you for one part of your business, what would create the biggest shift?

Sometimes the next step isn’t finding another answer.
Sometimes it’s inviting another perspective.

If you’re not sure where your biggest opportunity or block currently is, I’ve put together a free Business Self-Audit.
It’ll help you see where your foundations are strong… and where a little support could make the biggest difference.

Business Inside Out

Business isn't really about business. It's one of the greatest mirrors we have. The clearer we become internally...the clearer our businesses become externally.

Hey Reader,I'm in the air (quite literally). As you're reading this, I'm somewhere between Europe and Bali, doing my seasonal migration back to the island :) So this letter isn’t really about business. But then again… everything in life is connected. How we are with ourselves in one place tends to get reflected in another (life’s a mirror).I always get this nostalgic feeling when I’m leaving places (which happens a lot). You know that strange space when something is ending and something new is...

Hey Reader,It’s friyay :)And I’m here with some practical things again. Since we’re on this streak, I thought I might as well add one more piece to the puzzle.Systems.One of my favourite parts of business. I know some of you might immediately think…“I’m just not good at systems.”“I’m not a tech person.”“I’m too disorganised for all of that.”But what if you’re not bad at systems? What if you just haven’t built one around YOU yet?One that works with the way you think. One that makes your life...

Palm tree and moon with text - where is your time actually going

Hey Reader,Happy September :) Not sure about you, but I love this time of year. There is something about September that feels like a new kind of motion. Summer is winding down. The witchy season is approaching. And there are still four whole months left to move some things forward before the year is done. So this week we’re continuing with the practical side of business.Let’s talk about time. Or more specifically… What are you actually doing with the hours you have?Time management is one of...
