🔵 The most powerful vision board I ever made

Hey Reader,

Today I want to share a story.
It's one I haven't really told before.

It begins in early February, 2021.
I'm sitting at the airport in the Philippines, waiting for my flight back to Bali.

Honestly... I don't even know how I ended up there.

I had no job.
Almost no money in my account.
And over the previous nine months (when my last employment ended) I’d somehow managed to build up debt.

And what’s funny…
If you looked at my Instagram back then you’d probably think I was living the dream.

Bali. Philippines. Malaysia.
Endless summer. Beautiful beaches. Surf and all good vibes.

Freedom… right?!

I must say… it all looked pretty good on a screen. Only… that wasn’t the full story. As far as my inner world was concerned… “living the dream” was very far from reality.

I wasn’t just financially broke.
I had completely lost my sense of direction.
The existential questions had become my daily rhythm.

Why am I here? What am I actually doing with my life? What’s the point of any of this?

I was confused and desperate…… a very dark period in my life.

Not because I had no money.
Because I had no purpose. No vision.
And when you lose your vision… everything starts feeling heavy. Or maybe a better word is… pointless.

Looking back now, I realise this was the moment I met something I now call my anti-vision.

We hear a lot about vision.

Vision boards.
Future selves.
Dream lives.

But nobody really talks about anti-vision. The place you never…
ever…
want to find yourself again.

For me it looked like this:

Financially broke.
Spiritually lost.
Emotionally overwhelmed.
Physically exhausted.

I couldn’t even escape my own thoughts.

And strangely…
that became more powerful than any vision board I’d ever made.

Because sometimes we don’t move towards a dream.
Sometimes we move away from a place we’ve decided we’re no longer willing to live in.

Fast forward a few years… and I can honestly say I’m grateful for every part of that experience.

Not because I’d want to repeat it.
But because it changed the way I look at business forever.

It taught me that building a business isn’t just about strategy.
It’s about building a life.

A way of living.
A relationship with yourself.

That’s why I care so much about the inner side of entrepreneurship.
Because underneath every strategy…
every offer…
every piece of content…

is a human being trying to build a life that feels aligned.

And I’ve found that the clearer we become about what we no longer want…
the easier it becomes to recognise what we do.

I’d love to ask you…

Have you ever met your anti-vision?

That moment where you realised… “Whatever happens next, I’m never coming back here.”

It doesn’t have to be business.
It could be work. A relationship. Burnout. People pleasing. A version of yourself.

If something came to mind while reading this… I’d love to hear it.

Just press reply.
I’d love to hear your story 🤍

Business Inside Out

Business isn't really about business. It's one of the greatest mirrors we have. The clearer we become internally...the clearer our businesses become externally.

Woman on a surfboard with the text “How do you celebrate yourself?”

Hey Reader,I'm in the air (quite literally). As you're reading this, I'm somewhere between Europe and Bali, doing my seasonal migration back to the island :) So this letter isn’t really about business. But then again… everything in life is connected. How we are with ourselves in one place tends to get reflected in another (life’s a mirror).I always get this nostalgic feeling when I’m leaving places (which happens a lot). You know that strange space when something is ending and something new is...

Hey Reader,It’s friyay :)And I’m here with some practical things again. Since we’re on this streak, I thought I might as well add one more piece to the puzzle.Systems.One of my favourite parts of business. I know some of you might immediately think…“I’m just not good at systems.”“I’m not a tech person.”“I’m too disorganised for all of that.”But what if you’re not bad at systems? What if you just haven’t built one around YOU yet?One that works with the way you think. One that makes your life...

Palm tree and moon with text - where is your time actually going

Hey Reader,Happy September :) Not sure about you, but I love this time of year. There is something about September that feels like a new kind of motion. Summer is winding down. The witchy season is approaching. And there are still four whole months left to move some things forward before the year is done. So this week we’re continuing with the practical side of business.Let’s talk about time. Or more specifically… What are you actually doing with the hours you have?Time management is one of...
